Partying on an easel

I have been making lots of easel cards lately. They are heaps of fun and really easy to make and give your card that extra 'pop'. I made one this week using Makeesha Byl's sketch challenge which looks like this...

I absolutely love this sketch and have a million other ideas of what I could have done with it if i had enough time this week. But due to the flu, gastro bug and a teething baby that wasn't feasible unfortunately! Here's what I did come up with....

I used the Party Hearty Stamp Set with some lovely masculine colours Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze. I am so excited we are keeping Baja! How awesome does the card look standing up all on it's own! Here is a close up of the front of the card...

Stamp Set: Party Hearty
Card Stock: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black
Ink: Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: 1 3/8" and 1 1/2" circle punch, Scallop Edge punch, Word Window Punch, Black Brads

Thanks for looking!

A HUGE Announcement!!!

No No I'm not pregnant again! This is a HUGE Stampin' Up related announcement. Stampin' Up are making alot of big changes at the moment with new punches, clear mount stamps, new in colours, Big Shot machine etc but this week Stampin' Up announce an even bigger change... They are undergoing a Colour Renovation. Stampin' Up have been working on this for 2 years now with stacks of research and have come up with a new scheme. This new scheme will be implemented in the new IB&C due to be released on 1st September. Here is the new colour scheme.

They will be keeping 25 of the current colours (Crumb Cake is what we currently know as Kraft), Bringing back (or keeping in Australia's case) 10 In Colours and bringing in 5 new never before seen colours to create 40 new core colours
What do you think??? It's very exciting! Especially since my favourite colour of all time is coming back... Wild Wasabi! Woo Hoo!
So what happens now? Well the other 30 colours currently available will retire on the 31st August. I am little upset about loosing a few much loved colours but I know this is a positive change for Stampin' Up and will mean a more easily accessable colour pallette. It also means Stampin' Up have given us plenty of time to stock up on refills and cardstock before they retire. Here is a list of the colours that are retiring.

Now there is also another big change that will be happening. There will still be In Colours coming out on a yearly basis but there will now be 5 instead of 6 AND they will now be staying for 2 years instead of 1 year. Which means for the 2010-2011 catalogue there will be 5 In Colours plus our 40 new Core Colours and then from 2011-2012 and beyond we will have 10 In Colours and 40 Core Colours! How exciting!

Now this is a huge and overwhleming announcement and if any of this didn't make sense please contact me and I am happy to explain it to you.

Have a great day,
Dani :)
